Club Challenge 10 miler- 2/24/08

Hey PGRCers –

This winter I will be organizing our 10-miler club challenge team for the race on February 24th, 2008. We need 15 club member to have a team: this is our goal! We will not be able to be competitive with some of the stellar running clubs in the area (Baltimore, Howard County, etc.); however we want to have PGRC represented at this event. Now that we have club shirts, we are going to look good too!

So far, some club members have expressed interest and have asked for a training plan to follow. I have outlined a suggested plan for the next 10 weeks to get you ready for the run. Remember, no matter what your pace, we want you to participate!

I will be leading the longer runs on Saturday mornings (as on the attached schedule – excel spreadsheet) and we will probably split up into a few different pace groups based on the current interest of our members.

After the holidays we are also planning on fitting some Hill workouts in on our Thursday runs!

P.S. I won’t be leading any longer runs until the first weekend in January (6.5 miles) because I am running the Celtic Solstice 5 miler this Saturday and then I am off to PA for the holidays. However… you should try your best to be ready for 6 miles at the Great Lengths fun run on New Year’s Day!
